VINCENSINA "VINCIE" GIRIMONTE
Obituary
Born in Albany, CA on February 24, 1921,
died peacefully with her family at her side on April 15, 2009.
Born to Italian immigrants, Antonio
DeBiasi and Giovannina Massa, she graduated from University of California at Berkeley in 1943.
She was
the adored wife of Nicholas J. Girimonte of 66 years and a resident of Chico for 58 years. She was a devoted
wife and mother. Her life was centered around her loving family. She found the good in everyone she
met.
Throughout her life, she volunteered in numerous capacities; PTA President, precinct worker, and
spending many years in a 1st grade classroom, where she was known as "Mrs. G". Vincie, along with her dear
friends, were known as the "Potluck Group". She was also a lifelong member at the Bidwell Women's Golf
Club.
Vincie was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Giovannina DeBiasi and eldest son,
Joseph A. Girimonte. She is survived by her daughters, Nicolette Centeno (Gene) and Judy Girimonte;
daughter-in-law, Susan Girimonte; sons, Gene Girimonte (Art Curtis), David Girimonte (Lori); grandchildren,
Christina, Rodney, Joey, Alicia, Tim, Matthew, Joel, Nick, Tyler, Vince, Kyle and Tony; great-grandchildren,
Leonardo, Mia, and Rio; in-laws, George and Mary Capps, and Katherine Gainey.
Memorial Mass will be
held at Our Divine Savior Catholic Church, 566 E. Lassen Ave., Chico, CA at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21,
2009. A Reception will follow at the clubhouse located in Springfield Manor, 2050 Springfield Dr., Chico,
CA.
