Carole Ellen Girimonte
Obituary

Carole Ellen (Barr) Girimonte, 64, of Newfield unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2013, and is now with her parents in heaven.

She was born in Camden to the late Harry and Terry Barr. Raised in N.E. Philadelphia, she graduated from cosmetology school. Soon after school, she met and married the love of her life, Peter Richard Girimonte. They relocated to Newfield to raise their family and remained longtime residents. Her parents owned and operated The Newfield Tavern for more than 30 years while she and Peter opened up Pete's Shoe Repair in Vineland and then later in Bridgeton. She was very happy working with leather side by side with her husband and best friend. There was nothing more important to Carole than her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed camping trips, big family dinners, and hanging poolside with family and friends. She kept busy by sewing, crocheting, playing computer games, rolling tobacco and was always excited to collect free gifts from computer advertisements; there was always something interesting arriving by mail. Her family will always have the greatest memories of Carole and her sister, Cherie, always dancing, whether it was the Jitterbug, Bristol Stomp or the Mash Potatoes. Carole will be forever missed and loved by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Peter Girimonte; daughter, Christina Williamson; sons and daughters-in-law, Peter and Clare Girimonte, and Stephen and Jennifer Girimonte; four grandchildren, Autumn Williamson, Peter Girimonte Jr., Gabriella Girimonte and Ella Girimonte; and her sister, Cherie Girimonte. Carole was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Helene (Wood) Barr.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are under the supervision of Rone Funeral Service, 1110 E. Chestnut Ave., Vineland.
